The 36-year old New Zealander Michael CAMPBELL wins the U.S. Open: 71, 69, 71 - 69
“Kia kaha” means “stay strong” in the Maori language, and that´s exactly what he did Sunday at the 105 th U.S. Open and closed with a 69 at Pinehurst No. 2 for par and beat Woods by two. He wears the words “Kia kaha” on the back of his golf shirts and he is the 57 th player to make the U.S. Open his first major.
